COST ENGINEERING CONSULT
Duties
The duties of the NWS shall include but not limited to the following:
1. Organise, coordinate and direct the Project Consultancy Teams
2.Prepare, design to the Client approval for submission to the relevant authority departments for planning approval, construction and completion to the specified requirements.
3.Ensure proper records of instructions, minutes and discussions are maintained.
Provide and monitor all budgets and the current cost position.
4. Control and monitor the Project Programmer.
5. Satisfy the Client that all parties are performing their duties in the best interest of the Client.
6. Ensure all consent, approval, instructions and directions are given at appropriate times so as not to delay or hinder the planning, design or construction of the works.
7. Prepare appointment briefs and negotiate contract with all consultant and contractors where necessary.
8. Supervise the preparation of concepts, sketches, design, plans and documents to ensure the development meets the Client brief for functionality and aesthetics.
9. Direct the preparation of recommendation and obtain the Client approval about finishes, quantities, cost estimates, cost budgets, time schedules, tender documents and contracts.
10. Satisfy the Client that all plans, specifications and related document are submitted for approval and assist when required, in obtaining the necessary approval.
11. Ensure the Contractor and his construction management team provides adequate supervision of the construction with respect to programmer and quality of all works included with in his contract.
12. Satisfy himself and the Client that the Contractors' planning for construction, delivery including methods, procedures, plant and equipment, off-site manufacture of components, of loading facilities, excavation, hoardings, site organization, staffing, management, supervision, amenities and general controls meet the contract conditions.
13. Satisfy the Client that the necessary prototypes and models are constructed as benchmarks.
14. Satisfy the Client that all necessary tests are carried out on critical items to be installed in the project.
15. Ensure that the consultants carry our regular detailed inspection of the works to ensure the project is being constructed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
16. Ensure that all safety precautions and standards are being maintained.
17. Maintain a detailed register of all agreements documents and contracts.
18. Ensure all necessary insurances are arranged and maintained in force for the duration of the project.
